"Oh, you commented on a public page? I'll make sure every single friend of yours sees that"
So Facebook has recently decided that the most important piece of information, the thing we want to share with all of our friends, is our comments on public pages.

Have you noticed that? Have you noticed that your News Feed now mostly looks like this:
* Bob has commented on this post by The Cheesecake Factory
* Sarah was tagged by Alice on this post by The Association of Radicals
* ....
Sometimes you barely even know one friend, and then Facebook finds it important to show you their conversations with their friends on the comments of random posts on Facebook.
What's worse, this is probably happening to your comments as well. Everyone on your friend list will see you tagging your best friend on some inside joke, commenting on a political post, making fun of something, etc...
There is a difference between doing something in public, and between that thing being displayed in front of every single one of your friends...
Facebook, clearly, doesn't care the least about privacy. All they care about is generating engagement, which this feature is helping with. So, if you want to fight this:
* Do not engage with your friends comments on public page
* Avoid the urge to comment on public pages until this is fixed
* Share this post
